Road Less Traveled

azam | Inspiration | Thursday, November 1st, 2007

I’d like to share this nice little poem written by Robert Frost, titled “The Road Less Traveled”.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth

Googlebot ignoring the rel=nofollow attribute

azam | SEO | Thursday, September 27th, 2007

This discovery is likely going to throw spanner to the works for many SEO’s out there. I have evidence to show that Googlebot does not abide by its own rules.

Google Webmaster Tools: Pages that link to yours report identified a couple of links (more…)

Baby Steps

azam | Inspiration | Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

Today marks the first of many days.

I’m getting myself ready and into a new operating habit. One that requires me to log into my blog in my most productive hours, late into the nights, peace and quiet (all the kids asleep, the wife too) — reflecting, typing away, prodding.. (more…)

Am I really an SEO Dark Lord?

azam | SEO | Monday, September 17th, 2007

Wow. I just took this quiz on SEOmoz.org to test my knowledge on SEO.

I must say I learnt a thing or two while taking the test, especially those questions that addressing SEO angles I did not thought of before, but made some off-the-cuff educated guesses (you can say ‘lucky shots’). (more…)

Funny reasons

azam | Random thoughts, Inspiration | Saturday, July 21st, 2007

I figured I might as well get this out of the way since you are really curious to know.

While the idea of writing a journal online (aka blogging) had always seem like an interesting thing to do, it never occured to me that doing so would make any sense to a practical man like myself. To borrow a quote frequently used by my first son, “What’s the point?” (more…)

How I got to #2 in Google within 24 hours

azam | SEO, Marketing | Thursday, July 19th, 2007

Well, well. What do you know?

This site got crawled by Googlebot within an hour of it going live, then went into Google’s main index within the day. No big deal, right. Yeah, what blew me away was that my introductory page ranked #2 for my name!
ranked 2 in Google within 24 hours

The following was what little I had done to achieve this: (more…)

Whats with the NUEXP name?

azam | Random thoughts, Inspiration | Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

You must be wondering whats the connection between being Inspired, avant-gardism and the nuexp.com domain name.

nuexp, of the nu-exp variant, short for “New Experimental”. Derived from meaning of avant-garde

Well, it could have been something else, but isn’t that’s what this is all about? No?

Finally, a blog I can call my own..

azam | Random thoughts, Greetings | Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

Hi!

Thanks for dropping by.

For some funny reasons (which I will share with you in another post), I’ve been resisting for the longest time to have a site I could call my very own, and when the moment finally came, I could not find a better way to celebrate it than to begin with a blog.

This site will be a collection of my thoughts about career, business, family, life, and perhaps a little bit of everything else.

More significantly though, I hope to use this medium for the exploration of ideas, shifting paradigms and testing of new boundaries (thus, the term a’vant-garde, which you will find me mentioning time and time again). As such, I would expect (or hope) that you, my most important visitor, will not lose the opportunity to leave your comments whenever you find me writing a subject that is close to your mind or heart.

I shall end this short introductory post with something for us to ponder about — a saying that goes like this “The mind. Once stretched, never will you find it going back to its original form again.”

Wouldn’t you agree?
